Wet Paint is a global graffiti art movement founded by Persue, transforming the familiar “Wet Paint” signs used by cities to cover graffiti into unexpected canvases for creativity. What started as Persue collecting hundreds of these discarded signs evolved into an international collaboration spanning generations, styles, and cities around the world.

Co-curated by Persue and legendary graffiti artist Wane One, Wet Paint explores the ongoing tension between systems of control and the human instinct to create. Every sign tells a story. Once used as a symbol of erasure, each piece is reclaimed and reimagined into an original work of art.

It’s a conversation that has existed for decades in graffiti culture: the city paints over a wall, and artists return to leave their mark once again. Wet Paint captures that cycle and transforms it into something permanent, celebrating rebellion, resilience, and beauty born from contradiction.

Introducing Merlot

For the next chapter of Wet Paint, Timeless is partnering with Seattle based graffiti artist Merlot.
Known for her bold color palettes and sleek, design forward approach to lettering, Merlot represents a new generation of artists reshaping what graffiti can look like. Her work balances traditional graffiti structure with contemporary visual rhythm, creating pieces that feel equally at home in the street and the gallery.

Her talent has earned recognition through Wet Paint exhibitions and collaborations with 12ozProphet, 212 Arts, and international mural festivals. More importantly, Merlot continues to expand the conversation around who gets to define graffiti’s future, helping pave the way for more women to influence the culture on a global scale.

Her perspective embodies everything Wet Paint stands for: honoring tradition while pushing creative boundaries forward.
